Week 14: Still Life
I always tend to been drawn to our change jar, probably because we never use cash anymore, so the change never builds up. There goes the lovely idea that in our wildest fantasies, when the change is filled to the top, it will be enough for a vacation. This baby hasn't moved in months.
So instead, I play with the change. I was working on a stop motion animation this week, that turned out to be not cool at all, but I did weirdly fall in love with this shot. I just love how perfectly the coins seem to be falling in this particular shot.

Moments
There is something wonderful about banana pancakes and brand new shoes.
opened by us and well, my feet are very happy.
Happy Friday! Enjoy the little things this weekend ;)

Week 12 and 13: Phoodle!
I just realized I never posted the phoodle from last week! Oops.
It makes sense to post them together anyway! See why?
(Although it was more appropriate last week when it was still freezing cold with the lingering winter).
Now, time to get this apartment in order. My weekend was filled with getting all of the wedding invites out, and well, the apartment shows it.

Week 13: Still Life
Week 13: Self-Portrait
Two months till the wedding!
I've been obsessing over those little dots that you can find for like 99 cents at CVS or Staples. Anyone know what they are actually used for? I buy them when I want to paint polka dots, and while I was finishing up some painting projects these last few days, I was totally inspired by the dots themselves.
Can you tell?
Happy Monday!
Hope everyone had a great weekend (ours went WAY too fast, but isn't that always the case?)!

Week 12: Still Life
Week 12: Self-Portrait
I knew what I wanted to do this week, and as individual shots, I couldn't decide if it came out how I wanted, and I certainly couldn't decide on one.
I tried a multiple exposure of five different frames (though it only looks like three), and it is definitely more interesting then each standing alone.
Funny how that works.

BIG ideas!
If you follow me on
, you would have read
Boo lights on during the day. Grey winter days go away!
under this picture, but, in reality, I'm happy by the light bulb (well, the one in my head, at least).
You might have noticed that I've been a bit missing here on my blog, and haven't gone through with some my normal scheduled weekly posts, and well, that's because I've done a lot of thinking about my blog this past week.
I had a circumstance that wasn't necessarily the nicest, but opened my eyes a bit in a good way! (Don't you love when that happens?). It allowed me to realize that 1) a lot of what I represent on this blog is other work (yes, work that inspires, but all I do is the layouts for them, which takes up a lot of my time) and 2) I obviously support the work of the represented artists I was just referring to (why else would they be on my blog?), but I don't necessarily do enough research on who I am supporting. It's always purely aesthetic.
For all I know one of the artists I have featured here could be an animal hater - and I would have no idea! And I certainly don't want to be a supporter of an animal hater (even if their work does inspire me)!
[I sure hope that hasn't happened]
Follow? Probably not. I've totally been in an over-thinking, completely hyper-active, a million thoughts running through my head kind of mood, which I of course love and hate all at the same time.
So all of this rant is just to say that from now on this blog is going to be more me! Not focusing on what inspires me (because let's be honest, the same artists float around Pinterest and blogs all day long), but more my work. Well, all of my work. No more schedules (for now), but more tidbits of life and me. That's the only way for this blog to be unique -- if it's truly and uniquely just me!
So that's that!
Happy Monday!

PS I am a bit late but the 52 Week Project will be updated today for last week!
Week 11: Phoodle
Week 11: Still Life
I knew this week I wanted to mess with lenses (since I really have been itching for a lensbaby) and it is probably the first time I changed the lens on my camera since I got it. I tend to stick with the 50 mm f 1.4 lens - I love it.
And not only did I change lenses, but I also messed around with something I've been wanting to do for awhile. I disconnected the lens, holding it close to the camera body, to pick whichever focus I could find and want. It was fun experimenting with it and it definitely adds a certain something to a picture.
Here's Week 11's still life...
And in case you can't tell what this is - it's endless hours of spraying flowers for the wedding.
Yes, my wrist was actually sore for two days from all the spraying, BUT it was well worth it.
Enjoy your day!

Week 11: Self-Portrait
I was eager to do more of a bridal-esque shoot this week (since I've been obsessing over floral crowns and what not), so I just went for it.
I've also been attempting the no make up vibe for some time now because
1) I've had terrible eczema under my eye - yuck
&
2) I really want my skin to be glowing for the wedding day (I know, I know, perfectionistic tendencies)
&
I must admit, I'm missing my mascara. Clear mascara just isn't cutting it - but it has been SUPER easy in the morning and washing my face at night.
Oh well. Happy Sunday!

Week 10: Phoodle
Week 10: Still Life
I've been seeing a lot of images floating around with polaroids within a picture, and it always catches my attention. I've been wanting to try it for some time now, so I quickly did a run through this morning, and well, this is what I came up with.
I would definitely like to take some time to do a more in depth one, but I'm thinking color, so I have a few more black and white frames to get though ;)

Week 10: Self-Portrait
This week was absolutely crazy (guests, snow storm, no power, bidding wars on houses),
so you know what that means...a lame excuse for a self-portrait this week.
I was playing around when the power was out with 30 second exposures so I blend into the background. Was fun, but the results weren't what I wanted - maybe another attempt will come next week.
Happy Sunday! We have lovely spring weather (FINALLY)!
xo, Laura
And yes, that's that mirror creeping in for the third week in a row, and no, it wasn't on purpose. That's actually the mirror's home ;)
My Work: Yes, I Exist
Week 9: Still Life
I know I already did a still life similar to this, but....
I just love how the pug pops out.
I'm obsessed with this necklace - I've had it for years. My sister got it for me and I believe it's from
, but my oh my is cute!
Happy Saturday! We're anxiously awaiting some visitors!

Week 9: Phoodle
I was definitely inspired this week by...
1) My new painting
&
2) Alla Alborova's [sort of] photographs from yesterday.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
And be prepared for a few more of these phoodles coming in the next few weeks ;)

Week 9: Self-Portrait
I went very heavy on the editing this week - something I typically don't do and am not very comfortable with, but I've been wanting to dive into the whole fairy tale fantasy photo shoot world I love so much.
So here it is, my self-portrait from this week.
And yes this was [sort of] my other idea for the mirror.
And yes, the mirrors are totally inspired by
mirror photographs that I love so much.
