My Work: Yes, I Swim

I was SUPER excited to stumble upon my

Yes, I Swim

series on

So Super Awesome

the other day.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to find the blog because it is amazing! I have so many artists to share these next few weeks that I discovered there. LOVE!

And I FINALLY got a chance to do some paintings over the weekend.  I cannot even remember the last time I had a minute to have some fun painting or drawing over the weekend, so I was super excited.

Next in the

Yes, I Swim

series:

Yes, I Swim (Giraffe)

&

Yes, I Swim (Baby Sloth)

Hooray!

Happy Thursday - and stay tuned for many artists thanks to So Super Awesome!

Polaroids!

My lovely sister got me a classic

Polaroid camera for Christmas and I was super excited to start messing around with it.

Have you guys heard of

The Impossible Project

?!

It's really super cool.

They have created a new generation of instant color and black and white film for some of the classic Polaroid cameras.

Yes, buying expired Polaroid film as some fantastic qualities (I LOVE IT),

BUT IT IS SO EXPENSIVE.

Not that this film is cheap in anyway, but yes, it is affordable.

So far I've tried the:

And I loved them both.

Seriously, check out the website. It's amazing.

Here's a selection of some of the polaroids from their gallery.

AWESOME.

Oh film, how I love you.

Enjoy your day!

Snapshots: Valentine's Day

We had the best Valentine's yet..

and the last before we are Mr. & Mrs.

It was filled with treats, puggle breath, breakfast for dinner, laughs, games, and relaxation.

Couldn't have asked for anything more.

Simple and sweet.

Love is in the air. Now how about some spring in the air?!

Week 8: Still Life

I've been getting down and dirty with the wedding details,

and have had my hands on lots of yarn, twigs, and glue guns.

I'm loving the way colors and textures are coming together,

so I just had to photograph a glimpse of it for my still life this week.

I also had to share this picture because I just loved how funky it looks.

A complete accident and totally underexposed,

can you tell what you are looking at??

Yes, more pom pom yarn flowers.

Doesn't it look like some weird planet landscape?!

EEH maybe I've just been staring at them too long!

Enjoy your weekend!

Week 8: Self-Portrait

I cannot believe we are already in week eight of the new year.

Where have the weeks gone?!

I knew I wanted to do something with mirrors this week and I had two different ideas.

This was the result of one of the ideas - maybe idea two will come next week.

I'm also messing around with watermarks (sort of) this week to see how I like it.

Thoughts?

Typically, I hate when a photo I love is watermarked, but I understand why photographers do it.

..INDECISIVENESS...

Oh well.

Week 7: Self-Portrait

I was inspired by the patchwork quality of

Grogg's

Reconstructions

from yesterday,

so I wanted to mess around with my portrait and still life this week.

It totally reminds me of a project I had to do for Art & Design (my first ever art class in college),

where we had to take a million pictures of one scene and lump them all together,

having them connect however much or little we wanted them to.

Mine, of course, had a million little Tessas in it ;)

Enjoy your weekend!

Week 6: Phoodle

The phoodle project is SO much better than my original life drawing project.

Hurray for that!

Here's Week 6:

PS Anyone remember Peperoncino?

The infamous fish that was returned to Petco in some tupperware..

Yea, I tried to make him look like a nice fish here,

ready to party...

Week 6: Still Life

The lovely hubby to be got me gorgeous flowers this week,

so I of course wanted to incorporate them in my still life.

I've been having fun with layouts that compare different depths of fields.

Corny, maybe, but I likey.

Week 6: Self-Portrait

I can't believe it's already Week 6 of my 52 Week Project.

I really need to get my butt in gear with wedding stuff :|

Anyway, here's my self-portrait this week.

One of the hardest parts for me in this project is for sure picking the final picture (as you can tell since some weeks have more than one).

I've been really digging portraits that cut the face in half, though.

Can you tell?!

Happy Sunday!

Snapshots: Past Few Months (YEP!)

I can't even remember the last time I posted any snapshots of us,

but I know for sure, those first two pictures are from September,

so it's been awhile..

Oops.

Here's what's been happening:

~Jersey City for Wedding Plans

~Cutie Puggle (As Always)

~Cold Hikes & Climbing Trees

~Home For Christmas

~Quality Time With The Cutie Nephew

[and more puggle love]

Week Four: Self-Portrait

So Week Four.

I had an idea of what I wanted to do.

Involving crazy hair and well balloons (drawn in like a phoodle),

but instead,

I sort of just liked the crazy hair.

You know how some photo shoots just go right?

This was one of them.

Maybe a total of 15 minutes of shooting and I was pleased.

And guess what - after only fifteen minutes....

I had a very, very sore neck for two days from

flipping my hair back in forth

(cue Willow Smith)

Oh well!
