Wedding Website

I've been working on our wedding website, and I figured...

what would be a better thing for the home page than a homemade phoodle!

Yep, that's right. My first one in awhile...

Oh, Happy Love!

Almost back in the swing of things :)

Engagement Pictures!

We were really happy to get a chance to spend a few days at the beach for the end of the summer.

Finally.

We were even happier to get up at sunrise and take some self-shot engagement pictures.

Oh love.

What's better than some smooching at the beach?!

This week is flying by!

Happy (I can't believe it's already) Thursday!

My Work: Photo shoot Overload!

Last week I kind of had a photo shoot overload.

But who's complaining - it was much needed!

So, as usual, it started with nature...

I love collecting my little pieces of nature in my pocket as I walk the dog :)

Then I was shooting to take some pictures of my cutie little animal figurines where it looked like they were in their natural environment

(..like so..)

But..I thought it was much more interesting to see the entire picture,

which led to this...

And then this..

It morphed into a little series that I will continue and I shall name

Obsessibles.

Well..maybe.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I'm off to play with some dogs!

Photographer of the Week: 5ftinf

I am very impressed with this week's

Photographer of the Week

Meet Philippa Stanton

An artist who creates contemporary paintings that offer some insight into a synaesthetic perception - meaning Philippa can see sound, taste and smell in shape, color, and texture.

Lost?

Well it doesn't matter, because this week's photographer is Philippa's alter ego:

5ftinf

I've been obsessing over her alter ego - featuring photographs of 'The Table,' where she highlights ordinary objects.

So beautiful!

Maybe I need an alter-ego.

Hmm maybe Turquoise Lollipops is already that?

Phoodle: Overload

There is nothing like a glaring computer screen staring at your morning eyes.

Add phoodling on top of that and things just get real teary and real swollen real quick.

Oh the joy of a phoodle overload this morning...

Hope you enjoy :)

My Work: Phoodle (WHAT?!)

I've started a new thing that I have been wanting to try ever since I stumbled upon

Johan Thornqvist's

work awhile back (see post

here

!).

My initial attempt was completely lame (lacking my oh so lovely bamboo tablet that I now have), so I am ready to have a battle at it again.

I mean come one. I love photography and I love doodling, so what better combination?

All photographs I will use are mine.

So I shall name thee

Phoodle

:)

And here is the first phoodle baby..

And check out the new Phoodle button on the left sidebar.

It will link

here

!

A tumblr page just for my phoodles.

Hope you're enjoying your day ;)

I'm keeping busy, busy, busy.

Weekly Snaps: July (1)

I am behind on pictures since our last minute trip home to New Jersey, so...

here's a recap.

Friday before we left we made a tent and watched movies all night.

Yep, that's right.

It was an awesome tent.

Funny thing was..we were so into our in little world we didn't even realize a terrible storm was going on outside.

Was pretty funny when we finally emerged from the tent and saw what was going on.

And check out the little paw creeping in this picture...

(got to love her)

Once we were back in Jersey, I got to spend some time with my crazy cute new nephew.

And surprise, surprise - someone else crashed the party!

And back in Charlottesville things have been pretty quiet.

Been busy working on all kinds of new things.

Tessa and I tried out a new trail.

And I got some new nature pictures I'm obsessing over for the week.

Notice how the leaves on the above tree are ombre.

How in fashion that tree is!

I just love my f 1.2 50 mm lens.

And of course, last, but certainly not least, some Tessa loving.

So stinking cute..

..wait for the perfect smile..

there it is :)

Happy Weekend!

And the picture overload is done

Weekly Snaps: June (4)

This week was bright and colorful.

Starting with a version of a picture I have been trying to get with Tessa from day one.

A picture of our feetsies :)

And these adorable puggle pictures..

I absolutely love early morning light, but I often cannot decide if I should shoot black and white or color. I know a lot of people would say that is silly and to always shoot color because you can always convert it to the black and white, but I swear, the camera version of a shot taken in black and white is much more beautiful than an edited black and white shot.

Oh decisions..

Enjoy the weekend :)

It's going to be a hot one here - filled with polo and pool parties.

Now that's a whole lot of p's.

Video: Rainy Days and Roller Coasters

It appears my videos want to upload again, so here they are from last week.

Do you ever notice everyone seems to be a bit on edge with the rain (yes fish and dogs included)?

And have you ever noticed how quickly roller coasters actually are?
I didn't until I recorded the ride - no it's not in fast motion.

That second roller coaster hurt (if you couldn't already tell)..

Oh, Happy Thursday!

Weekly Snaps: June (1)

Last weekend was great.

Yep, that's right - we went to the amusement park.

Before:

And during:

And I managed to catch some video on two of the roller coasters.

It's not in fast motion and it's amazing how short the ride is when you really look at it.

They don't feel like uploading, however, so you have to be patient!

And I of course still love all things miniature, including miniature photography.

This was our favorite ride (it doesn't look as intimidating miniature)..

Other than that, we had lots of rainy, dreary days this week.

And lots of beautiful rays of light trying to peek its way through.

There is something so gorgeous about early morning light.

Well, Happy Saturday and Happy Weekend!

The summer finally feels like it's here..

Quintessential Quote: Dog Wisdom

I found this

quote

awhile back and have been loving it ever since.

It seems quite fitting, too, since this week started out with dogs and will most likely end with dogs :)
