Oh to be able to live in a daydream. Current daydreams are filled with stripes, polka dots, florals, and little girl nursery decor. It really does not get much better than that. Friday bliss.

We are currently trying to soak up some rest and relaxation down the shore this week. Hoping to get in lots of reading time, lots of beach time, and a whole lot of NOTHING before this baby comes. Fingers crossed! Hey, I may even have time to do some work in my sketchbook.
Happy long weekend everyone!

Simple circles and single colors - trying to keep things real simple these days. Because sometimes simplicity really is key.
Happy Friday!

New Jersey hasn't given us the warmest welcome. And no, not the people - they have been surprisingly lovely. The weather. Ugh, the weather. It has been nonstop rain for a full week and it looks like we have another full week of it coming.
To be honest, it's made the transition a bit more rough, but hey, I'm working on it. And waiting for the sun. It's not a bad place to be. XO

I told you I've been into the moody, deep mediterranean blues recently, but pair those blues with my go to typical colors and I am all kinds of happy. Feeling good on a Friday, who's with me?!

This is always the time of the year when I am just consumed and invigorated by color. My jaw literally drops as I drive down the highway because the colors are THAT beautiful. It really is such a special time of the year and goes by SO quickly that I try to soak it up as much as I can.
But man, oh man, the sun, the colors, the vibrance - I am just in happy color heaven.

I kicked this week's butt. It feels SO good and feels SO long overdue, so I am floating around with my head in the clouds today. But that's what Fridays are for.
And these colors. These colors ALWAYS feel good to me. Just a girl and her sketchbook.

After our time in New Jersey, I can't say I am back in the flow of things since being back. It's kind of hard with our time being so limited here now (three more weeks!) and not to mention being 25 weeks pregnant. I am craving more work, so hopefully it all falls into place.
And if not, guess what? It REALLY doesn't matter. Isn't that a freeing feeling?

Time is flying. I mean it's always going fast, but these past few months have flown by. And i actually don't mind it, although I would like it to slow down now. And of course everyone says, just wait until you get older, but I really cannot imagine it going any faster! Trying to savior this Friday!

A few weeks in and my sketchbook (without limitations) is going great. I don't do it as often as I would like (maybe once to twice a week), but when I do get around to it, I love it. There's something really freeing about creating something just for the heck of creating. Am I right?!

It's hard not to have a good week with the weather REALLY feeling like spring. Happy Friday. Happy Sunshine. Happy Smiles. Because really - it's hard not to smile with the first warm sunshine in a long time.

I think I've mentioned this in the past, but I have never really been a big fan of purple. And yes, that is in part a lie because when I was little my entire room was lilac, including LOTS of accessories. In fact, this past year, I was asked to wear purple to something, and I was surprised to see not only did I not have anything in purple, but I didn't even have anything that had bits of purple in it. What I am beginning to realize, though, and fall in love with, is that certain colors can be brought back to life (to you) based on the other colors you're using. So as you can tell from my inspiration board on my last post, purple is feeling mighty yummy these days. It totally just depends what colors are working with it or against it.
Yay for more yummy colors.

Friday feels so damn good, doesn't it. Now go out and create something this weekend.

A few weeks into my sketchbook and so far I realized two very important things. First, there's nothing better than starting your day with your sketchbook. I notice such a difference in the days that I do versus the days that I don't.
And second, when you give yourself freedom to do whatever it is you want (for once) and try to not limit yourself, your sketchbook somehow streamlines itself (where in the past it never did). Funny how things work out. Freedom is a good, good thing.

I can't seem to rid myself of ALL THE COLORS and no, I'm not complaining. I'm just falling more and more in love. And nothing beats falling madly in love on a Friday. Enjoy the weekend XO

Just a girl and her sketchbook and absolutely no expectations. And it feels OH so GOOD. Happy Friday! XO

Sometimes a happy accident happens and you just have to go with it. For the first time ever I am starting a sketchbook with absolutely no expectations and it feels good. To create what I want when I want. Wahoo.
Happy Friday!
