I kicked this week's butt. It feels SO good and feels SO long overdue, so I am floating around with my head in the clouds today. But that's what Fridays are for.
And these colors. These colors ALWAYS feel good to me. Just a girl and her sketchbook.
Just A Girl
I kicked this week's butt. It feels SO good and feels SO long overdue, so I am floating around with my head in the clouds today. But that's what Fridays are for.
And these colors. These colors ALWAYS feel good to me. Just a girl and her sketchbook.
I've FINALLY been back into a productive workflow after they craziness of the past few months, and although I am grateful for it, it's going to be cut short as our next (and still temporary) move is right around the corner.
I so terribly miss having a designated studio space, BUT I am making it work. And I am terribly excited to see what the rest of 2016 holds for me. It certainly is going to be an exciting year. There is something nice about that anticipatory excitement of things to come, especially being completely and blissfully unaware of what lies ahead (something I am usually no good at, but that pregnancy has taught me to fully embrace).
Happy Wednesday all. Hope the sun is out and treating you well. I love this time of the year!
There's not too much to say on this Monday because I am busy trying to knock things off my to-do list. Time, as always, is going WAY too fast, and I am trying to get caught up with a million things at once. But I am beginning to realize it's a very hard to task to stay caught up when there are a million other things going on. I CAN'T WAIT TO BE SETTLED AGAIN.
Happy Monday!
I've been having way too much fun messing around with pieces that go together. It's funny because 99% of the time I create pieces as individuals and then months later I feel like I've created the perfect match (unintentionally). Those little surprises are always SO exciting to me. Hey, it's the little things, right? And the fact that it's Friday is the best little thing currently.
Happy Weekend!
After our time in New Jersey, I can't say I am back in the flow of things since being back. It's kind of hard with our time being so limited here now (three more weeks!) and not to mention being 25 weeks pregnant. I am craving more work, so hopefully it all falls into place.
And if not, guess what? It REALLY doesn't matter. Isn't that a freeing feeling?
I don't know if it was the whole suspension of BOY or GIRL, but recently I can't get enough of the blue/pink combo. Simple as it is, it has my heart singing. Happy Monday! Hope it's enjoyable AND productive.
Pretty soon the leaves will be filling in the trees and pink will be budding everywhere. It starts so slowly and then goes so quickly, so trying my best to take in every moment. Spring, you really are the best. And you make this mama-to-be's heart VERY happy. Another pink moment.
An official Happy Spring to everyone! I've been looking forward to this week for awhile, and I am thoroughly going to enjoy it. I am taking the week off of work and immersing myself with family and friends. It's been too long and feels great. I can't think of a better way to start off the season.
Happy Monday!
Time is flying. I mean it's always going fast, but these past few months have flown by. And i actually don't mind it, although I would like it to slow down now. And of course everyone says, just wait until you get older, but I really cannot imagine it going any faster! Trying to savior this Friday!
The days are getting longer. The sun is setting later. The bugs are zipping around. And guess what. I love it all. Spring, stay, but summer, I'm feeling you too.
Now that it is officially spring, I am feeling giddy with excitement. And it just makes it even more exciting when I am currently growing a little one inside of me (and yes, it's getting harder and harder to hide her making my tummy huge in photos). Happy Monday and most importantly, happy spring!!
A few weeks in and my sketchbook (without limitations) is going great. I don't do it as often as I would like (maybe once to twice a week), but when I do get around to it, I love it. There's something really freeing about creating something just for the heck of creating. Am I right?!
The editing process is always one of my biggest struggles with my work. But this above new piece, this one is a keeper. And keepers feel just as good as the ones that get discarded (not really, but I can at least pretend).
Our time in this temporary living space is already coming close to an end - only about a month or so left. And even though we are probably going to be in another in between place before we settle back in the house, I am really looking forward to settling in a studio again.
Crisp white walls instead of this beige nonsense - yum!
It's hard not to have a good week with the weather REALLY feeling like spring. Happy Friday. Happy Sunshine. Happy Smiles. Because really - it's hard not to smile with the first warm sunshine in a long time.
We are counting the days until our final move back to home, sweet home, New Jersey. One of the best parts? Pretty soon I will have easy access to sand under my feet and toes in the sweet, sweet ocean. I cannot wait. And in the meantime, here's a new print I am working on.
Awhile back, you may have noticed life was kicking my butt, and in fact, it wasn't so much life as it was a little nugget growing inside of me. That little nugget is still growing, and although this isn't much of a personal blog, I couldn't help but share the news. It's a good thing I've fallen in love with pink this past year (as you can see here and here) because a little girl will be joining our family this July and we are SO excited!
Happy Monday!
I think I've mentioned this in the past, but I have never really been a big fan of purple. And yes, that is in part a lie because when I was little my entire room was lilac, including LOTS of accessories. In fact, this past year, I was asked to wear purple to something, and I was surprised to see not only did I not have anything in purple, but I didn't even have anything that had bits of purple in it. What I am beginning to realize, though, and fall in love with, is that certain colors can be brought back to life (to you) based on the other colors you're using. So as you can tell from my inspiration board on my last post, purple is feeling mighty yummy these days. It totally just depends what colors are working with it or against it.
Yay for more yummy colors.
Because I am just a girl who likes to take pictures and then to paint over them. Hey, try it, I swear it's fun. Okay Monday, I am ready for you. Who's with me?
Friday feels so damn good, doesn't it. Now go out and create something this weekend.
