These weeks have been flying by, but for once, I actually don't mind it (though I want my little girl to stop growing so fast!). It feels good to be in a flow and if that means the weeks are passing by way too quickly, I'll take it.
Just A Girl Holding Flowers (31)
For the first Monday in a long time, there are fresh flowers in my house and in my (unfinished) studio and it feels great. I'm finally settling into my house, into my studio, and most importantly, back into my work.
Another Monday to conquer and I feel ready for it. Who's with me?
A Brainstorm A Day
I still haven't quite pinned down this new series yet, but in the meantime, I'm trying to just keep brainstorming ideas. Not all of them come to fruition, but the ones that do, those ones make me all kinds of happy.

I'm getting very antsy to push old work aside and have the new work pour in, but I'm not quite at that point yet. I feel it coming though, and it feels right.

Monday is feeling GOOD today. I'm finally getting back into the swing of things and kicking butt on this Monday for the first time in a long time and that feels GOOD.
Hope your Monday is off to a smooth start.

Pattern play on a Friday. It just sounds right, you know what I mean?
Just A Girl And Her Studies (66)
The amount of unfinished pieces I have going on is a bit insane that I don't even know where to begin. The initial process of starting a new piece is so fun and exciting and QUICK, but finishing them, that's a whole different story.
So here's to yet another unfinished, currently working, no end in sight piece that's been sitting around begging for some attention.
Just A Girl And Her Paint (20)
An older picture that feels time appropriate with a fresh coat of paint to make it brand new. Newborn life is most definitely a blur, but as we are approaching six weeks with our baby, things are slowly becoming more routine.
And let's be honest, although it's boring, I thrive on routine. So here's to hoping pretty soon I can start creating as part of my day to day routine! Come on baby, let mama paint :)

Just a few of my favorite things on a Friday. Stripes. Circles. Polka Dots. And black and white bliss. Happy Friday folks! Enjoy the weekend.

I'm currently at the point where I am wondering how long I can get away with wearing maternity pants post pregnancy. But, come on - floral sweatpants. Need I say more?

It's so crazy how quickly time goes. I scanned in some pressed flowers in April, and now here we are, in August, and I am finally using one of the files (as my skirt). And here I am, looking at tomorrow, trying to understand how my baby girl is already going to be a month old. Time has always gone fast, but this past month has been insanely quick. How is my baby girl already so big?!
SLOW DOWN TIME.

Sometimes it's the simplest things I enjoy the most. Simply circles. Simply a sketchbook page. Simply an underworked piece that sits much better within my soul than an overworked piece. That's always the challenge - knowing the complexity of simplicity.

Florals upon florals upon florals. Now to only convince my husband to have some massive floral wallpaper somewhere in our house.
Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?
Slow Paced Patience
Life has been slow paced in terms of my own work because, well, taking care of a newborn takes up a lot of time and energy. But I'm realizing I'm continuing to build the patience I learned throughout my pregnancy now that the baby is here and patience is a really good thing to have as an artist (or to have just in general, of course). Because I typically tend to go no stop and taking the time to really cherish each and every moment is a beautiful thing.
It really is. And guess what - there's always tomorrow to get things done.
Just A Girl And Her Sketchbook (28)
Just a silly little sketchbook page to get me through the week. Now, time to feed the baby (as always).

Totally still feeling the floral love. Everyone is rushing the end of summer (people start getting sad August 1st!), but I am still on full on summer mode. Hot days. Sweaty nights. No school. Just sweet, sweet summer.
Instagram Love
I am, and have been, completely in love with Instagram (although I'm not really too fond of the new update, but who knows, maybe it will grow on me).
Currently my Instagram feed is getting a bit more love than my new work, but hey, balance will come. And right now the only REAL thing on my mind is my itty bitty baby girl. Happy Friday!

Sometimes chaos is simply beautiful. Embrace the mess and see the clarity that can come from it. Easier said than done, but when it can be done, it makes all the difference in the world.
Here's to simply embracing whatever chaos this Wednesday has for us all.

Another Monday. Another girl. Another mama just getting through the day the best I can. Another fresh week with another fresh bouquet of flowers.

Still soaking in these colors as much as I can. It's been awhile since my hands have been covered in paint and I can't wait to start up my work again, but until then, I'll just be posting things from the last few months.
Man - and thinking about painting with my baby one day - that makes me one really happy mama.
