Happy Fabulous Photo Friday!
After a long, long search today for perfect slippers and a few perfect sweaters, I came home to finally put together some scenes to photograph. It takes so much time and is so messy, but before I get to that, here's my choice of the photographer of the week:
Tillmans is a German fine art photographer and artist whose work is extremely diverse, but primarily focuses on photography's foundations as a medium. I particularly LOVE his abstracted photographs (if you can call them photographs). These works are created without a camera -- they are created directly in the darkroom and are often largely accidental. These abstract works present photography as a self-referential medium. Enough photography talk for you? I just think these images are so beautiful.
Okay back to setting up some scenes. I finally got to do my first experimenting with it (I have been wanting to set up scenes to photograph for awhile) and after my first experience, I learned two things:
1) It takes way longer than I had anticipated
2) It is much harder than it looks (especially when you have a preconceived idea of what the final image should look like)
I basically experimented with different materials, cutting up some of my photographs and other random images, and well just playing with angles and aperture. It's not exactly how I wanted, but it's a start...right? Let me know what you think!
Okay folks, until next time...go have a nice weekend, enjoy the cool breeze in the air, eat or drink something pumpkin flavored, and be creative!
I'm missing the beach and the ocean, you?
